The Painted Francolin or Painted Partridge (Francolinus pondiceranus) is about 31 cm long medium-sized bird
with brown head, barred body of grey and brown plumage throughout, and chestnut
blotches on the back and the wings. It is a resident breeder in the plains and
drier regions of South Asia.
