The Indian Robin (Saxicoloides
fulicatus) is about 17 cm long from bill to the end of its upright tail.
Male is glossy black with a blue sheen; it has a white shoulder patch and
chestnut undertail coverts. Female is brownish and has no shoulder patch. It is
a resident breeder in the entire Indian Subcontinent, but found to be avoiding
thick forest and high rainfall areas.
